Ok it is an 8 1/2 inch block in the center.
Then take the two other fabrics and cut a 4 1/2 inch strip wof and a 6 1/2 inch strip wof from both. WOF (width of fabric)
Sew the two different fabrics of 4 1/2 inch strips together.
Sew the two different fabrics of 6 1/2 inch strips together.
Sub cut these into 2 1/2 inch strips across.
Then sew the now 8 1/2 inch by 2 1/2 strips to the bottom and top of the 8 1/2 inch block. Then sew the 12 1/2 inch strips by 2 1/2 to the sides of the block. Sew the blocks together.
For this size you only need a yard of each fabric! It's a lap quilt. Or go to Lavender Limes web site and send off for the pattern book. It's only $12.95.
You can do this with any size blocks --- just figure what size half the block is and cut your strips!
Clear as mud? It's really really easy!
