I have several quilts made by my DGM(she passed in 1972) that she used fabric from our clothes. I love petting it and looking at it just for the "WARM & WONDERFUL" memories of my childhood. One in particular is made out of all my siblings flannel pj's,lol!!!
I am sitting cutting up my mornings finds as we 'speak', 10 garments at £1 each!! It gives me such a buzz, not sure I would feel the same paying out megabucks for new fabric...well that's how I console myself for having no craft fabrics shops here LOL! I wish I had kept all my sons old clothing, but I only discovered quilting 4 years ago and they are 26 and 23 now!!
