Right now I am working on a quilt for parents bed. It is all done in blue batik, so I am buying as I go. Almost ready for border and I think I have some of every blue batik in town but not enough of any. Just might have to buy more of some or make a pieced border. Any ideas for pieced border?
I like the "piano key" border, strips of 2 1/2"x6", or whatever size suits you. A nice star, four patch, etc, in the corners makes an interesting finish. I have used a "checkerboard" border that I like. I used 2 1/2" squares and just kept addin rows until I had whe size border that I wanted and that looked "right" with the size of the quilt.
