My sister just gave me a top to quilt for her granddaughter. It has pieces of fabric from dresses we wore in 1950 and earlier, a couple of blocks from much later, maybe the '70s. My grandmother made many of the blocks, she passed away in 1972, hadn't quilted for many years before that. My mother completed the top, she passed away in 1986, and hadn't quilted for at least 2 years prior.
I cried when I saw it, didn't know of its existance until a few weeks ago. Hopefully, it will be done for Christmas.
