Many times I've come very close to my fingers with my rotary cutter--nowadays when I cut I check where my fingers are before I move the cutter.
My cousin Anne cut off the first joint of her right index finger as a teenager when she got it trapped in mixer beaters just for a second when she was making cookies! Ow!
