I love this. If for whatever reason you end up with one that doesn't have a machine, why not put it to another use. I'd definitely have one of these in my house.
I don't dislike the use of a redundant treadle for a bathroom sink, but I think the plumber should have been shot - that is definitely a case of an insensitive waste pipe fitting, if ever I saw one.
LOL, Lacelady: I have to agree. It is rather unsightly. He/she could have done a much better job of making it less visable for sure. I've seen many vanitys over the years made from vintage and antique furniture. Personally I love it if it's done right.
