Welcome from Pensacola, Florida! Your quilt is 'sew' pretty! I'm sure your granddaughter will enjoy it for years to come. I love your idea of making it from scraps of her dresses. I have three girls that I sewed for all during their growing up years, and I saved the scraps. I kept them separated so I would know whose was whose. When I first began to get into quilting I made each daughter a little wall quilt that had 30 hearts appliqued on it from 30 of their dresses. Then I made one for me with hearts made from ten of each girls dresses. This one has more sentimental value to me than anything I've made since, although I was a real beginner when I made it. I still have many of their scraps, enough to make each daughter a full size quilt some day. I just love a scrap quilt, especially when the fabric holds sentimental value. So glad to have you on this site. I love it, and it has expanded my knowledge of quilting; always a ready source of information.
