Actually, the polyester and other non-cotton fabric doesn't last as long as cotton. I know this because my mother made a quilt for my daughter using a lot of different fabrics left over from a lot of clothes she had made for me over the years. I had to replace many of the pieces a few years ago and now I have to replace all of the other pieces. Tried suggesting to my daughter that is was better to just let it go but she wasn't ready to do that. Sooooooo I will fix it for her.
