Yes, you can join the batting pieces together to make larger pieces. I do it by overlapping two pieces a little bit and cutting them with a rotary cutter in a wavy line from top to bottom. Remove the scrap left over and then put the pieces together and sew with a zigzag stitch. You will not have a ridge where the pieces were joined because the cuts match exactly. Hope this helps.
