It was in a magazine and I'll try and dig it out. I made one with the Califon fabric a couple years ago. It is an easy pattern. Amma has it right. You stack your fabrics-I used FQ's, cut them into squares and the cut off piece (rectangle) is used for the border, then do 2 cuts each way. You do not cut even from an edge like when you are cutting strips. Leave the first stack in order as it was cut, take next stack rotate 1 fabric from top to bottom, next stack rotate 2 top fabrics to bottom, continue each stack adding additional fabric each stack. Then the piles will have a different fabric in each layer. The black strips are 1/5 inch strips and you sew them in between the blocks that you have cut above. Make sure that you stay consistent and not change your fabrics after you get them rotated. It is best to not use repeat FQ's as they will end up next to each other on one or two of the blocks. Use all different size patterns, values and hues to make the most striking quilt.
