I have made a couple larger quilts with pieced batting. I never had a problem. As don't use a HUGE amount of quilting but I do use an "ample" amount of quilting on quilts that have a pieced batting.

NO there is not "seam" there, what you do is you but the two pieces up to each other and you set your machine to the widest, longest zig zag stitch that it will do and you send the pieces though the machine making sure that either side of the zig zag catches either side of the batting holding it together I am gonna find a link and add it.
