Actually, you may be OK having used your debit card. A few years ago my son ordered some motorcycle parts using his debit card. He received some of the order, but not all. After trying to deal with the company for a while, he found out they were going out of business. He contacted his bank and, because his debit card was a Mastercard, his account was credidted with the full amount of his order. He had boxed up the items he received and was going to send them back, but was never contacted by the company to do so. In the end, he received some of the parts and all of his money. Contact your bank about the possibility of having your account credited.
