for my own quilting, it's not so much the actual color, as it is the Look. I love to work with background fabrics. And I'm drawn to two-color quilts. Could be because I don't trust my own sense of color, and reducing the odds gives me a better chance of liking what I'm doing? I enjoy scrappy quilts, so long as the background carries the load. When I see a SpecTacular quilt (which is everyday on this board), I'm not blown away by the piecing - I'm left in awe by the color. Choosing Color is the real gift. Everything else can be learned. Color is where true quilting talent lies. (Everyone can sing; god-given talent is all that lies between me and Barbra.)

So, I enjoy quilts where my color choices are simple ones. If I drift away from that, I end up staring at a jumble of color and shaking my head at the mess of it. heh-heh
