I have a pair that hubby gave me - I think they're Kevlar gloves. The guys use them at work so they don't get sliced up when handling aluminum products at work.

Wearing one glove when doing lots of cutting beats nursing a deep cut for a week or a trip to the E.R. My pair fits loosely over the hand that just holding the ruler - no problems.
