I joined yahoo groups for the Fun Quilter before I bought one. I read and read and tryed them out at shows. I wanted to go used because of the cost so put out the word on the yahoo groups and got a catch. (Thanks Mickey!) She had it all set up for me to try out when I got there and than made me thread, unthread, put bobbin in and out, etc. I spent an hour or more before committing myself. (Although I went all the way to Ohio from Iowa to buy it!!)
In other words try it out before buying it and if she has a problem with you working on it a little that would be a red flag for sure. Just my thoughts.
