The snow isn't scary, but the ice storms are. With the snow, you just stay home and don't plan on going anywhere. The ice storms can be very dangerous. As Maggie mentioned, the ice storm we had 07, I was without power for only 2 days and thought I was going to freeze to death. Some people were without for 2 weeks or longer.
