My grown daughters just lost their Father, and they want me to use his shirts to make a quilt. I know this will be different than using material. Any tips?
My good friend's husband died and she had this done. The quilt maker used flying geese with the geese being the shirts and a coordinating background, set in rows. The geese were large enough to show the fabric off to a good advantage and easily identify the shirt fabric, as that was really the point. He had all flannel shirts, and it was a very masculine quilt. The quilt maker used a plaid flannel for the border as well, but I don't think it was out of his shirts.
