I use fusible web for small pieces. Then use a 1.5mm blanket stitch to secure these pieces. Remember, if you don't like it, the fused piece will come off easily. I am printing the farmhouse pieces on tracing paper. It works like the PP paper but is cheaper.
I cut the seam allowance before I stitch. These helps position the pieces. My montra place, trim, sew, press.
