Your mother has done a fantastic job! I would take it a little at a time so you are not overwhelmed. I am working on the same Grandmother's flower garden with 1930's reproduction fabric since Spring 2009, and I must say, it's looking very good - at least that is what a fellow co-worker and quilter who is a lot more experienced than me, said.
