I should have used my vintage machine, but NOooooo, I had the new fancy schmancy machine set up, so I tried to hem my son's jeans with it.
What a princess! and I don't mean that in a good way. As soon as the seam got to the big hump - where the seam and the previous hem overlapped, she balked - big time. Broke the needle twice. Ended up hand cranking it through the hard part - and that was with the walking foot engaged.
Dang computers!
My vintage would have blazed the trail with no problem. At least I know for next time.
