We live in the country and are on a community well. It is extremely soft and does not make good coffee or tea. We put a reverse osmosis system in the house and I use that filtered water for cooking, coffee and tea. The icemaker has a filter on it. It is a lot kinder to our skin and we use very little soap, shampoo and detergent as it suds up like crazy.
