Another idea for your border --- stitch in the ditch of the border seam and leave other portion unquilted since there is only going to be 2 inches or less once you sew your binding on - the flow of the quilting will follow thru to the border in that none of the quilting was done in the red.
Thank you. That might just be what the doctor ordered. I put that border on just to frame the quilt. I think that will solve my problem. I won't have to hunt and scratch my head to find something small to fit in. thank you
