Sewing machines are made and/or manufactured in SE Asia.

...As are the Janome, Babylock, Singer, etc... in Taiwan & Japan.
There are none made in America. Sorry to be bearer of bitter news.

A good, older machine is better but it is a matter of choice, mostly...
