I think I would buy a Pfaff with the IDT(built in walking foot), one less thing to buy and all of your quilt blocks come out better as all the layers feed evenly. Test drive lots of machines with your thread,fabrics and batting.
I have had 5 different Berninas, all wonderful machines; still have 2 of them(1031 & 930). 2 Pfaffs with IDT, the 1222E and 2040. One Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 875 has
the large 10" throat and a ton of fancy stitches, makes great buttonholes, I like this machine for quilting.
Many antique and vintage Singers, mostly straight stitch.
