I personally like the Janome. I had the 9700 (loved it) upgraded to 11000. Have the Horizon and 3160. My suggestion is to get a machine where it can be serviced and receive help when needed. Where I purshcased mine - they service and very willing to help when needed and give free one on one and/or free classes
