a Year ago I was lucky enough to get 2 framed quilt blocks from my aunt. One was done by my greatgrandmother and the other by my grandmother. I had no idea either one of them quilted, but then grandmas been gone for about 5 years and had alzheimers prior to that. Anyway each grandchild received a set!
Are they worn? Absolutely! One aunt was going to throw them away and my Aunt Carolyn said no, let's give them to the grandkids.
They're on display in my home and mean the world to me as I know both grandmas did the work all by hand after the hard work they both did during the day (grandma was born in 1914). So both went through the depression, etc. Great Grandma was married and had twins in 1914, then 2 girls then a set of twin boys then one more girl! It's hard to imagine!
