Good for you!! With so much hate and prejudice around, you are stitching a way to understanding. Is there anyone there with expertise in the culture? It would be very good to check on etiquette. Sometimes we well-meaning folks barge in on a culture which sends an awful message that they are not important/valued. (Especially painful when we are the visitors.)
