Welcome to the board. You might want to take some scrap material and just start cutting it to different widths to get the feel of it. Once you see that you can do it you might be more relaxed. Do this several times at different times of the day or evening. There will be no pressure on you to not mess up your fabric. Just go for it a few times on the scraps. I sometimes still have a hard starting, but I use a few scraps first to get rid of the tension I'm feeling. I bet you will be doing it in no time and enjoying it.
