WOW!
congratulations! Those are fantastic machines! I would invest a little more and take it to a shop that specializes in Singer repair (harder and harder to find these days) to get it cleaned up, oiled an brought up to snuff. It'll cost, but worth it to make sure you're getting the best out of a fantastic machine.
