It is so nice to meet the people who share so generously.I'd like to reciprocate with an idea I got so long ago I do not know who to give credit to. You use a loose fitting shirt, remove the collar, detach the sleeves, open them at the seam and cut the shoulders leaving one body piece front and back. Lay the batting on the wrong side of the shirt pieces (discard the collar)and lay 2 strips of fabric about 4 inches wide right sides together, stitch them to the batting and shirt at the midpoint of the back (as was done on the string quilt blocks). Open the two strips and attach a single strip to the left and another to the right through the batting and shirt.Same on the sleeves and reattach the shoulder seam and sleeves to the body. Sew binding across the lower back, lower front, up the front and around the neck. I used florals and it made a nice quilted jacket.
