Next time I'm going to have to try the saliva trick. "Granny's Spot Remover" works. I have found it at LQS, Hancock and Joanns. I also have had good luck with the Carbona stain removers that you can find in the grocery store. Little yellow bottles and they have several types for different stains. I use those as a treatment on the blood before washing. I've never tried it to spot clean.
