An advantage to being at Ft. Riley is that you are just next door to Manhattan, a wonderful university town. Plenty to do there--concerts, art, shopping, etc. You can take classes in whatever. Hot in the summer and cold in the winter, for sure, but all in all not a bad place to be. I grew up in Topeka but live in Texas now, and in the summer I long for those cooled-down evenings sitting out on the porch. My Dad used to say to me and my sisters: "Some day you girls are going to appreciate Kansas!" and he was so right.
