As I (unfortunately) moved, had to leave my favorite behind, which was a Nu-Tone (I think) central vac. Easy to put in then, as we built the home; harder to add to a home. Have had many, including a Rainbow which had to have extra attachment for carpeting--unhandy. Like my Bissell that I now have, and so reasonable in comparison to most.
