The head is very awkward to use, and it does a poor job on carpet. I have mostly laminate, but have some large throw rugs that can't be picked up and shaken. I will give the machine one thing though, it is pretty quiet. It they made a power head for it, it would be fine.
My Miele has a power head and a second attachment for low-pile carpet and uncarpet flooring. It has been great. Are you sure there isn't one available for yours?
