I like doing needle turn applique but at the moment I am doing one by machine. It is quicker since I am doing 16 blocks and I want to finish it quickly. I had to stop to finish the challenge quilt for next week then I will get back to it. Hand applique is more relaxing and I do enjoy doing it. I know there are many other who love it so I don't think it is dying out just yet.
