Has a good straight stitch and zig zag. Tension works fine. I have mine in the motorhome and take it with me when we are camping. It works fine.
My vintage Featherweight does not drop the feed dog either, however, I free motion with it all the time by setting the stitch length to zero.
AND I think you can usually put a card or something over the feed dogs, seems like I have heard that. :-)
