Have you tried Quilt As You Go, String blocks? Heartstrings.com (or Mary Johnson's site) have lots of good ideas and hints on using strings of batting and fabric. I have completed several QAYG block/quilts for Quilts of Valor this way. Using up every scrap is an unreachable goal, I found, because they multiply behind your back!! :lol:
