When they first appeared in the shops I was excited, but I never got around to buying one. I could not justify the cost and convenience of having someone cut and coordinate fabric for me. Perhaps if I were a "newbie" with little fabric and experience in color selection .....
I am a Senior (72 yrs), happily living alone. I have a huge stash and lots of time. When I want to take a machine break, I often spend the evening pulling fabric and making my own jelly rolls. I do the same things with squars (I have stacks of 5 1/2; 6/1/2; 8 1/2;, etc ).
It boils down to how much is it worth to you - to each his own. The important thing is GET THE QUILT DONE :>)
