A lot of the design is enhanced by the fabric selection, i.e., the floral design that appears in the sashing and the inside border at top and bottom. I like the use of the four patches in pink/cream and green/cream. It definately is a sampler and will give an opportunity to try several blocks. I do not see any applique in this quilt. It is wonderful use of so many colors and patterns, however, I am not sure about the outside border; seems a bit dark, but then it may not be in real life.
