I have found lots of fabric on-line when I ran short. Hopefully you know the name of the fabric, manufacturer, color name, etc. Just start searching on Google using the fabric or manufacturer name. Could bring up hundreds of hits. Do a search for Quilt Shops in your state, then go to each one & search for the fabric. Also, Hancocks of Paducah, Quilt Index, Fabric Shack in Waynesville, OH.
