if the doctor says you have to, you have to. I had one before my back surgery in 1988 and did well til i had to ride in a wheel chair on the wobbly floor to get to the front door. it only added two days to my hospital visit and i had migraines for over a week. would only do it again if the dr insisted. good luck, hope they can find out what is wrong and that it is fixable, or at least have a not too invasive solution......
