Hancock sells some material that i use for my backing of burp cloths and for making bibs. It is the fabric you make diapers out of. It feels like cloth on one side and a non-permeable plastic on the other. it is easy to sew with. Just tell them what you want to do with it and they will direct you to it. So I layer with my pieced top , a layer of batting and that fabric as my backing. i had one of the ladies i gave burp cloths to as a gift tell me that mine were the best she had received because nothing leaked through.
