My first ever quilt blocks were Sunbonnet Sue blocks too! As a treat on Friday afternoons in 8th grade, my teacher let us sew these blocks together as long as our classroom work was done! She made them into quilts for charity. I LOVED Friday afternoons! It took me many years to continue my quilting experience but am so happy I found quilting again. Plus, even though I did not quilt, I have always done handwork, like cross stitch embroidery, knitting, crocheting, making my own clothes. I credit this teacher and my two grandmothers for instilling the love of sewing and handwork in me! My mother did NO sewing at all!
