I had wondered about the short shank. I knew the 6600 didn't have a short shank. I have bought several feet (short shank) for my current machine and it would be nice to be able to use them. The Scotch side of me starts thinking about that saving money. The other side of me thinks about the difference in features of the 6500 and 6600.
