I have found petite size thimbles at Hancock Fabrics. That's the size you are want, Petite. That size fits very small fingers. The extra small was too big for my DGD when she was learning. One thing to try, get a cheap metal thimble close to her size and then using a hammer, hammer it to an oval shape at the opening. It will feel so much better on the finger. Be sure and try the Clover silicone thimbles. The smallest size just might work for your DGD. They weren't around when my DGD needed a small size. They are super comfortable and pretty.
