When pieced borders are created, sometimes they don’t fi t perfectly around the quilt top, and extra strips are
needed between the quilt top and the borders. These are
called coping strips.
This tutorial shows how to calculate the size of the strips that need to be cut. I hope it's clear--it's the first tutorial I've ever even thought about posting. I also hope it will be useful to someone besides me--I've needed to do this calculation several times, so I finally decided to write equations for it.
