This is exactly why I'm afraid to work on someone else's quilt yet. I mean, I would NEVER think that cutting off part of someone else's work is EVER acceptable, but mistakes happen.
I agree with other posters- unless you have a LONG discussion with the LA-er, and she explains exactly why she thought it was OK to butcher your quilt, AND gives you a refund, I would not return to her.
