I tell the parents that the quilt is for enjoying..play with it , make forts and tents with it, have a picnic in the back yard, lay on the floor or cuddle with their pets with it but USE IT, make memories with it and when it falls apart, I will make a new one. Works for me.
I enclose a letter to the parents saying just about the same thing word for word!..."Dear Mommy..."
