OK the wedding is over and now I can get back to you. Thank you all for trying to help, but I looked at it very close last night and noticed that when the machine is running the bobbin winder thingy goes around too! This made me get a bobbin to see if it would work. The peg that the bobbin goes on is all the way over to the wind position and won't go back. It's like it is locked in that position. Hubby was able to force it back but still could not turn the DARN knob. So told hubby he could go ahead and see what he can do. He needs a hobby (not just fishing) anyway.
