We had a Maytag set purchased in 1966 and was sad to see it go. 40 years and 3 service calls. 5 years ago we bought LG front loaders and stacked them in the new laundry room. These new energy efficient cycles take a bit of getting used to but it's more than worth it. The only thing I miss is being able to soak certain things but it's not a problem to fill a pail with water, bleach and pop in the tee shirts hubby gets grimy doing yard work. I usually do this at night then just dump it into the washer along with all my other whites the next morning. If making the choice, I'd buy them again.
